PDH Commissioning Manager (Propane Dehydrogenation)

Position Summary: Our client is a prominent international service provider in the energy sector seeking a dynamic professional for the role of Commissioning Manager. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the commissioning process for various projects within the energy industry. While we value experience in Propane De-hydrogenation (PDH) processes, this role encompasses a broader spectrum of responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise interdisciplinary teams in the planning and execution of Pre-commissioning & Commissioning (PC&C) activities for process plants, ensuring compliance with client requirements and HSSE standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of commissioning work, evaluating available resources and potential constraints.
  • Develop integrated PC&C execution plans, including activity scope, duration, resource requirements, and constraints.
  • Design and implement PC&C sequences based on process nature, operational constraints, systematization of facilities, and project milestones.
  • Coordinate with various project departments, clients, and third parties to resolve interface issues.
  • Ensure safety and precautionary measures are adhered to during the commissioning process.
  • Collaborate with Commissioning Engineers in analyzing contract scopes and preparing systematic pre-commissioning/commissioning/start-up procedures.
  • Oversee planning, progress monitoring, cost control, and coordination with clients.
  • Prepare and implement commissioning safety procedures, such as LOTO, PTW, and control of blinds.
  • Conduct regular review meetings with clients and vendors to address HSE conformance, commissioning progress, and equipment-related issues.
  • Provide technical and manpower support to clients during initial operations as per project terms.
  • Manage and control project completions team and systems, ensuring adherence to schedules and client requirements.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in chemical/process engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Commissioning of Oil Refineries and/or Petrochemical industry.
  • Proven experience in operations readiness, asset management, and maintenance practices within relevant industries.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering principles and operations management concepts.
  • Proficiency in process design, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of Propane De-hydrogenation (PDH) processes and associated utilities.
  • Familiarity with power distribution systems, ICSS, Industrial Telecom Systems, and industrial HSSE systems.
  • Ability to develop PC&C protocols and plans for various equipment and systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools for producing PC&C schedules, documentation, and presentations.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to influence, motivate, and lead cross-functional teams.
