To handle day to day tax accounting activities to meet organisation’s accounting policy and procedure in compliance with Laws and regulations and utilise Financial systems to enhance the controls, compliance and reporting
Job Description
• Develop & maintain a detailed understanding of the Company regulatory reporting requirements for ESG
• Ensure Chiefs, VP’s and relevant management are aware of these requirements and their role in meeting them
• Conduct internal ESG awareness sessions
• Develop an ESG reporting & disclosure roadmap and plans to deliver the milestones therein
• Engage with external stakeholders to understand their ESG expectations and requirements
• Engage with the ESG Community to develop a deep understanding of how other companies and peers are reporting and disclosing and to ensure future developments and changes are understood well in advance.
• Develop, obtain alignment & approval for, and execute on a plan to develop the annual ESG report in line with DFM/SCA deadlines
• Establish ESG data and content policies and procedures to ensure measurement, collection, validation and reporting is well controlled and auditable
• Manage external auditors for ESG related matters
• Engage with Strategy, Risk and Reporting teams to agree an integration plan and to track delivery
• Engage with any agency issuing a public ESG rating on group companies to ensure the best possible rating is achieved. Develop a plan for future enhancements, linked to the roadmap and integration plans with clear KPI’s and targets.
• Act as Secretary to ESG Committee, ensuring meetings are planned, conducted and recorded professionally
• Support the ESG Sub-committees and the GFF committee to deliver their remits
• Develop charters/scoping documents for the ESG/GFF governance committees
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
• CFA or CA preferred
Minimum Experience:
• A strong background (10+ years) in sustainability issues, ideally in the utility/power sector.
• Experience of working in ESG functions of an investment firm.
• Technical experience and/or an appreciation of conducting ESG reviews, due diligence assessments, monitoring and reporting in alignment with the reporting Standards
• Robust influencing and engagement ability; adept at building relationships and credibility.
• Ability to provide leadership and work competently across a wide range of areas with investment managers, portfolio analysts, senior management of portfolio companies and with technical staff.
