Job Description

Our client is a world leader in the global export of premium quality dry food and as part of their growth in the Gulf region, we are recruiting an experienced trade marketing business analyst with experience in the UAE / GCC / Levant region food sector to join their Dubai team.

 

The successful candidate will have extensive experience from FMCG principals and capabilities to build BI dashboards and work with large data sets to enable brand and revenue growth.

 

The role will be accountable for business intelligence reporting, managing marketing budgets (PFME) and analyzing brand performance to enable better decision making for the sales, trade marketing and operations teams.

 

Role Summary

  • Work with distributors to understand their retailers’ challenges and develop detailed trade marketing and execution plans to support the distributor channel sales and marketing objectives.
  • Sales data analysis to improve local market brand performance; develop country specific planograms and follow up on execution.
  • Leverage brand, consume and marketplace data to recommend marketing objectives, strategies and activities for the brand plan  - volume, pricing, distribution, merchandising and trade spend.
  • Provide insightful data analysis for budgeting and sales forecasts; ensure pricing levels are identified and margins are improved and achieved.
  • Deploy activations and conduct post activity evaluations against established KPIs.

 

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • 7 – 10 years’ CPG, FMCG or food service trade marketing analysis from the principal side with a strong focus on consumer insights, supermarket, modern trade and distribution channel management and supply chain to drive strategic decision making.
  • Strong commercial mindset with qualitative and quantitative analysis capabilities to define metrics, identify market and distribution gaps and opportunities and competitor performance.
  • Excellent working knowledge of large-scale data management, data mining, ability to create analysis summaries and visual representations of data sets into actionable formats.
  • Strong working knowledge of DSR, MDM, WD / ND and Product Fixed Marketing Expenditure and the 4P’s and their application.
  • Ability to read and understand a P&L statement.
  • Proficient with MS Excel – Power Pivot, Power Query, Pivot Tables, and functions.
  • Experience with Power BI and familiarity with SQL, DAX, MDX, and the M query language.
  • Knowledge of visualization tools like Tableau, Looker or QlikView is a plus
  • Deep understanding of consumer marketing effectiveness, insights and data analytics.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Management

Candidate Profile

  • Currently living in the United Arab Emirates – must be able to live and work in Dubai.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills with a collaborative, results focused with the ability to work with multi-level stakeholders.
