The Community Editor will report to the Luxury Group’s Head of Social and work closely with the editorial and commercial teams to oversee day-to-day social content production, scheduling and community engagement across Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Grazia and Cosmopolitan’s platforms. The ideal candidate is a creative and digitally native self-starter with a passion for social storytelling and a solid understanding of the social media trends and behaviours that resonate with Gen Z and young millennials. You should be skilled in crafting compelling narratives across Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and Pinterest and community channels like IG Broadcast and WhatsApp, with a passion for emerging technologies in the social space. The ability to analyse performance data and pivot based on insights is key to this role’s ongoing success, and a strong understanding of MENA culture, fashion, music, and politics is essential.
Work closely with the Head of Social and key stakeholders to develop and implement the social and community strategy for our luxury brands
Manage daily content workflows, performance reporting and community interactions across our chosen platforms, in collaboration with the scheduling assistant.
Partner with sales team/s to pitch and execute commercial, social-first campaigns and provide organic post-campaign reporting.
Analyse social media performance and adjust real-time strategies based on insights to meet brand and business KPIs.
Keep updated with trends, new social functionalities, audience behaviour, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for fresh content and formats.
Collaborate with the editorial team to maintain consistent content and social calendar/s that reflect seasonal trends, commercial commitments, and editorial priorities.
Capture social-first content at shoots, events, and festivals and assist with basic video and photo edits.
Contribute to the development of standout formats and series to enhance brand visibility and recognition.
Assist in scripting for social media, videos, and newsletters, ensuring brand consistency and tone of voice.
Repurpose and optimise print content to ensure strong digital performance.
Ensure all content adheres to editorial, ethical, and legal standards.
Qualifications
Proven experience in creating social-first content.
Demonstrable experience in using data and insights to grow social channels and increase community engagement.
Expertise in building and growing audiences across multiple platforms simultaneously.
Strong understanding of social trends and culture specific to the MENA region.
Proficiency in social media analytics and performance tools.
Interest in paid media on social platforms (experience is a plus).
Excellent copywriting skills with a deep understanding of our youth brands’ tone of voice.
Experience with image and video editing tools.
Exceptional communication skills and a keen attention to detail.
Experience using social media management platforms.
Education and Experience
A degree in journalism, multimedia studies or communications (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a premium publisher, influencer management or creative agency environment.
