Job Description

ITP Media Group reaches an audience of more than 90.6  million people across the Middle East and beyond through its leading websites, portals, social media platforms, events, conferences, award ceremonies, magazines, books and social media influences agency.

Time Out GCC is looking for an ambitious, Arabic-speaking and writing Features Writer to produce entertaining, engaging content across Time Out Riyadh’s digital and print products. You should have your finger on the pulse of Riyadh’s lifestyle scene, a nose for new and emerging trends, and a passion for turning your hand to all manner of copy, from inspiring listicles to in-depth features and interviews with fascinating subjects. This role works exclusively on Time Out’s Arabic-language products and platforms, but alongside and in daily communication with Time Out’s English-language products.

Requirements


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Features Writer will primarily be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Plan, pitch and write a wide range of content for Time Out Riyadh’s Arabic-language products, ranging from listicles, directories and round-ups to news stories and long-form interviews.
  • Meet daily quotas for content across print and digital, and support the Group Editors and the wider team in the overall production of Time Out’s Arabic-language products across all platforms.
  • Make sure content is executed in line with Time Out’s SEO and social strategies.
  • Identify stories that can be adapted to, or enhanced by video, and work with Time Out’s video team to build a complete content package.
  • Work to ensure Time Out is the first to break news of happenings within the brand’s remit, quickly identifying subjects, topics and events that will make compelling content pieces and making sure they’re executed in line with our overall brand strategy.
  • Work with the Group Editors and Time Out GCC’s Editorial Director to ensure ALL content reflects Time Out’s overall editorial strategy and meets brand guidelines.
  • Work with a small, but talented editorial to populate an editorial calendar. Keep it current, identifying commercial and audience opportunities within it and communicating them to other teams.
  • Support the sales team by generating content strategies and establishing good relationships PRs.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the local scene; use your professional contacts and social-media networks to be the first to identify the next big thing.
  • Embrace Time Out’s digital-first philosophy. A strong background in digital publishing is absolutely essential.
  • Act as an effective brand ambassador for Time Out in the market.
  • Undertake reviews and attend events outside of office hours.
