Job Description

Our client, a leading government hospital, is currently looking for Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - Arabic Speaker for the Dubai location.

In this role, your responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a sub-specialized branch of Medicine that focuses on helping children, adolescents experiencing a wide range of mental health problems and their families.
Diagnosing mental disorders in this age group is complicated by several factors: children may have difficulty expressing themselves, clinical presentations may vary according to the developmental stage, as well as other genetic and environmental factors.
Therefore, professionals in this field apply variety of skills to assess and manage children and adolescents with mental illnesses.
We usually work as part of a multidisciplinary team that may include other child mental health professionals such as child psychologists, nurses, social workers, and others. Our work involves liaison with other agencies such as schools and social services.
Child psychiatry requires an ability to understand issues from a range of perspectives as it usually involves working with the child/young person’s carers as well as the child or young person.
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services at the hospital are provided under the umbrella of the Child Mental Health Center of Excellence, the first of its kind in the region. We provide comprehensive assessment and management of children and adolescents presenting with mental disorders including but not limited to Anxiety Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Psychiatric comorbidities in children with developmental delays, Mood disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Adjustment to medical illnesses & psychosocial stressors and other conditions.

Requirements

To be considered, you need to meet the following requirements:

Education:

Doctorate in Clinical Psychiatry from an accredited institute/college/university

Experience:

A minimum of three (3) years as a Clinical Psychiatrist in a multidisciplinary clinical setting or hospital or a mental healthcare service provider.
Eligibility for professional license Psychiatry Consultant as per Dubai Health Authority- Regulations qualification criteria.

Should be Bilingual - English and Arabic speaker.

Work Location - Dubai, UAE.
