Job Description

To manage and oversee the daily operations of the catering camp facilities, ensuring high standards of hygiene, food quality, safety, and accommodation services for all camp residents. The Camp Boss ensures the smooth functioning of catering services, housekeeping, laundry, and facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Catering Management:

    • Supervise kitchen staff and ensure timely preparation and serving of meals.

    • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen, dining, and storage areas.

    • Monitor food quality, portion control, and compliance with dietary requirements.

    • Coordinate with chefs for menu planning and inventory needs.

  • Camp Operations:

    • Oversee all camp activities including accommodation, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance.

    • Ensure proper allocation and cleanliness of rooms and camp facilities.

    • Coordinate with logistics for supply and delivery of provisions and materials.

    • Manage the waste disposal system and ensure environmental standards are met.

  • Staff Supervision:

    • Lead and supervise camp staff including kitchen crew, cleaners, and maintenance team.

    • Schedule shifts and ensure adequate staffing levels always.

    • Provide training and enforce safety and hygiene standards.

  • Health, Safety & Compliance:

    • Implement and monitor HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards in the camp.

    • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments.

    • Report incidents and non-compliances to management promptly.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain inventory records, requisition supplies, and control costs.

    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on camp operations.

    • Liaise with project or site managers regarding resident needs and camp performance.


Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the catering or camp management industry.

  • Experience in remote sites or offshore catering operations is preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and HSE standards.

  • Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory management.
