Pargo is a smart logistics company based in South Africa on a mission to build Africa’s leading last-mile delivery solution through its tech enabled network of access points. Pargo partners with thousands of retail stores to allow people to send, collect and return their online orders at these stores. With the global rise of ecommerce, the demand for affordable and convenient delivery continues to increase. Having seen exponential growth in South Africa and Egypt, Pargo is expanding into new markets which face similar challenges.

Description
Following a successful launch in Egypt in 2022, Pargo kicks-off operation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the next few months and is looking for a strong Project Manager to enthusiastically launch Pargo’s Click and Collect and Returns product and drive on the ground activities in Riyadh. Youll be part of the Expansion Team that ensures a seamless parcel delivery process for our clients. You will drive on the ground operations that will support Pargo’s launch in Saudi Arabia through working closely with pickup point partners and clients in order to achieve a high return of customer selection of Pargo’s products.

About the role

“Take action” and “execute exceptionally” are two of Pargo’s core values which are central to the role.  We are looking for a competent Project Manager to lead the set up phase in Saudi Arabia, able to deliver and coordinate cross-functional work streams to lay the foundation for scale.

Roles and responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Expansion team as well as the team in Egypt to execute on project related tasks requiring on the ground presence in Riyadh. 

  • Lead on-the-ground activities for the Pilot phase: 

    • Acquire, onboard and training pick up points

    • Integration with eCommerce clients

    • Manage daily operations related to the parcel journey

    • Manage key success factors related to

      • The business case

      • Establishing product market fit

    • Stakeholder Management

      • Support business development activities including prospecting and qualifying clients

      • When required, attend in person meetings with partners including

        • Pick up point partners

        • Clients

    • Gather insight: 

      • Gather feedback on pickup point operations and customer experience



Requirements

What we require of you

  • At least 5 Years experience in business development involving establishing strategic partnerships in Saudi Arabi

  • Fluent in English and Arabic

  • Based in Riyadh

  • A strong network in the retail and eCommerce industry would be advantageous

  • A good understanding of the administrative requirements of setting up and running a business in Saudi Arabia.

  • Energetic, reliable, adaptable and self-motivated

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Relevant tertiary qualification

  • Good knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques; e.g. PMBOK(R)

  • A self starter, able to work independently and support in growing the teamComfortable working in a constantly changing atmosphere and prioritizing work appropriately
