Job Description

Need to have

Injection Moulding – Fittings (PVC/CPCV/PPR)

Pipe Extrusion & Fitting Fabrication– Pressure & Telecommunication (HDPE/PPR)

The Plant Quality Engineer will be responsible for defining the methods and equipment that the Development and Production Teams use to measure the quality characteristics of the process and product. He will assess the products and create documentation that reports issues and non- conformances in the production process at an early stage to minimise potential losses and risks.

The Quality Engineer must be “hands-on, highly communicative and technically fluent in both English and Arabic with a strong desire to reduce quality risks through cultural changes”. He will be involved in the Quality department as well as Production with responsibilities for all production elements of the Quality Control- and Assurance chain from material receiving to finished goods, in Injection Moulding and Pipe Extrusion and report directly to the Quality Manager/Operations Manager.

Sincere work ethic for adhering to standards and managing potential harmful effects on timelines and budget, and the ability to operate under pressure to meet production deadlines.

Experience in a similar position in plastic injection moulding, extrusion and forming operations.

Extensive knowledge of the relevant international plastics standards: Fittings-ASTM

D2466/2467/2665/F439, HDPE Pipes-ISO 4427 and having worked with customer and certifying bodies like SASO, STC, Aramco, NSF and FM.

Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and techniques like- MFR, OIT, universal tensile testing machine, impact testing, pressure testing and sample preparation.

Technical auditing of processing and products based on ISO 9001: 2015 and revision of QMS to reflect best practices.

Ability to take the initiative and make sound judgments in work methods and interpreting goals.

Ability to work independently and in teams with infrequent supervision and reviewing.

High attention to details to ensure proper manufacturing, installation, and operation of products.

Good analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analyses and devise suitable preventive action plans together with department heads.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate new processes clearly and

document critical aspects of the job.

Must be fluent in English and Arabic (including technical expression and writing).

Excellent report writing skills.

Demonstrate a hands-on mentoring and coaching style and a passion to advance quality awareness at all levels and functions to eliminate risk and losses in quality and safety.

Excellent interpersonal and team-player skills.

Good mathematical skills and proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel

Outlook, ERP system and familiar with data management.

Technical product and processing auditing track record and proof of resulting continuous improvement initiatives.

Experienced in analytical investigative tools like PFEAM, RCA, 8D, PAPP reports for new products and processes.

Track record of conducting claim investigations at customers.

Requirements

Degree: Preferably a master’s degree in Mechanical, Polymer- Plastics, Quality or Manufacturing

Engineering, or another related field.

Experience: Strong engineering background with at least 10 years’ experience in a related plastics manufacturing function as a Mechanical-, Application-, Polymer & Plastics or Process Engineer of which

at least 5 years were spent as Quality Engineer or technical Auditor.
