Our client, one of the leading healthcare facilities based in Abu Dhabi, is currently looking for a Rheumatologist - Specialist / Consultant to be based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this role, you will be responsible for:
Accurately and competently perform all procedures within the scope
Provides optimal cost-effective medical care to promote the highest level of quality of life for each individual with rheumatologic disorders across the life span.
Provides diagnostic test and treatment of Rheumatic Heart Diseases, Rheumatic disease in general, as joints, connective tissue disease, vertebral column diseases and prescribing the necessary physiotherapy treatment such as laser therapy, ultrasound, electromagnetic therapy, deodynamic therapy, shortwave therapy, etc.
Diseases diagnosed or managed by the rheumatologist include: Rheumatic Heart Diseases, Rheumatic disease in general, as joints, connective tissue disease, vertebral column diseases
Assess the following:Signs and symptoms of systemic involvement• Joint disorders• Need for orthopedic or corrective intervention• Need for hospitalization for medical management• Mental well-being• Level of independence• Result of advanced laboratory and radiological examinations• Necessity of referrals to other health care providers
Interacts with the patient and family as a resource for health information and as a collaborator with other health care providers.
Educates the patient, family and community by teaching not only medical information, but also techniques for preventing disability, coping mechanisms for chronic disorders, behavioral therapy for improving quality of life, medication regimes and rehabilitative functions.
Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
Maintaining patient confidentiality and impartiality.
Must be well updated/oriented with regards to new treatment available in medical science
Promoting and assisting in the instruction, guidance and supervision of junior medical staff
Facilitating the provision of essential training relevant to clinical staff in the specialty
Promotes and participates in clinical research and publication
Requirements
To be considered, you need to meet the following requirements:
Must have a doctor of medicine degree or equivalent from an approved school of medicine is mandatory, with not less than 3 years specialty training in an accredited neurology residency program.
Relevant license as outlined by a nationally recognized Medical certifying body is mandatory
Active DOH license as Specialist Rheumatology
Fluent in written and spoken English, Arabic fluency is an advantage.
Possess very good interpersonal and communication skills.
