Job Description

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a number of exciting opportunities for P6 qualified Planning Engineers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia 

Responsibilities
  • Support planning team providing advice and guidance.
  • Assist Project Managers & Project Engineers with plans for tenders
  • Lead and develop programmes of work for the project.
  • Understand and apply estimating and budgeting techniques to develop cost loaded programmes.
  • Provide planning input to estimating and tendering activity on assigned projects, so that all relevant issues, actions and risks are understood and accounted.
  • Raise issues or discrepancies with costing to the Senior Planner for attention.
  • Manage the interface between the programme and the operational staff through structured meetings, programme and progress reporting.
  • Support the Risk Manager in highlighting both the dependencies and the interfaces between stakeholders.
  • Identify programme opportunities and propose and capture strategies.
  • Develop base line plan for assigned projects and monitor progress against this plan, so that any problems are recognised and notified promptly.
  • Report on progress and earned value, to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective action.

Technical Competencies

  • Significant relevant experience, typically over 5 years, in project planning,
  • Provide advice and guidance to less Senior Planners in structuring of the project programmes in Primavera P6.
  • Assist Project Managers & Project Engineers with plans for tenders.
  • Lead the use of Engineering Operating Instructions to develop programmes of work for the project.
  • Understand and apply estimating and budgeting techniques to develop cost loaded programmes.
  • Provide planning input to estimating and tendering activity on assigned projects, so that all relevant issues, actions and risks are understood and accounted.
  • Raise issues or discrepancies with costing to the Senior Planner for attention.
  • Manage the interface between the programme and the operational staff through structured meetings, programme and progress reporting.
  • Support the Risk Manager in highlighting both the dependencies and the interfaces between stakeholders.
  • Identify programme opportunities and propose and capture strategies.

  • Experience of working with and delivering programmes under NEC Governance.

 Essential Qualifications/Experience

  • Recognised Engineering Qualification/ or equivalent experience.
  • In depth understanding of cost engineering and applications.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Preferred Experience in contracting environment and contracting styles.
  • Relevant design / site experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree an advantage, but not essential.
  • A QCF qualification in Planning/ Project Controls an advantage, but not essential.
  • Experience with financial or cost management software.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
