Job Description

Paramedic Duties and responsibilities:

1. Responding to emergency 911 / hotline and radio transmissions calls.

2. Obtains information from persons involved, examines victims and determines nature, extent, or magnitude of illness or injury to establish emergency medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance.

3. Lifts carry and transport injured, sick, or incapacitated persons from residential or accident scenes to medical facilities.

4. Assessing patients, providing emergency basic treatment, and making initial diagnoses.

5. Applies splints; administers oxygen or artificial resuscitation; treats and bandages wounds or abrasions and performs other basic life support procedures.

6. Operates a specially equipped emergency medical vehicle in an assigned geographic area to respond to accidents or catastrophes and to transport injured or ill persons to a medical facility.

7. Provide treatment to patients while in transit to the hospital.

8. Provide the hospital staff with patient information, including condition and treatment upon arrival.

9. Writing and submitting accurate incident and patient reports.

10. Maintaining the Ambulance and Station medical equipment.

11. Great communication skills.
