Undertake dietetic assessments of referred clients considering medical, social, cultural and psychological factors (client’s profile).
Calculate the nutritional requirements of the client based on the interpretation of heredity, anthropometry, biochemistry, clinical condition and other physical parameters.
Determine, prescribe and plan the appropriate dietetic treatment to assist in health promotion and disease control.
Provide nutrition and dietary advice based on current evidence and appropriate to the client’s profile.
Counsel clients on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
Communicate this complex and sensitive information in an understandable form to clients.
Consult with medical doctors to determine clients nutritional needs and diet restrictions and make recommendations.
Monitor the client’s condition and progress during stay and re-evaluate diet as necessary.
Report back to the referring medical doctor.
Keep accurate written records of the clinical interventions, advice, and outcome decisions.
Maintain confidentiality and impartiality.
Be accessible always whilst on duty by mobile phone.
Maintain professional development and up-to-date knowledge to improve the quality of services provided to the guests.
Keep up to date with the nutritional developments in the food industry and science.
Understanding of the role of teamwork in providing quality services.
Requirements
Degree or postgraduate diploma in the area of nutrition or dietetics.
A minimum of one year of clinical experience is a plus after acquiring a degree.
English language speaking, understanding, reading, and writing at an advanced level, Russian is an advantage.
Ability to use computer software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point.
Be proficient in the use of dietary analysis software.
Ability to use nutritional tools such as calorimeters, bioelectric impedance machines, and skinfold callipers.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
