Job Description
Straddle / Mi-Jack / Overhead Crane Operator The Mi-Jack Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of a mobile crane to lift, move, and reposition loads. Essential Functions: · Operates crane equipment to hoist materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. · Ensures loads are safely attached to the crane before moving. · Manipulates crane controls to regulate speed and direction of the crane. · Inspects equipment to ensure it is in safe operating condition. · Assures that lifts are within load limits of equipment and that materials are correctly rigged. · Performs other tasks such as operating other heavy equipment as needed. · Obeys all safety rules and regulations. Work Environment: This is an outdoor facility-not climate controlled. Must be comfortable with working outdoors under varied weather conditions to include heat and humidity. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving heavy equipment/machinery, and loud noise. This position is a contract to hire after 90 days of good performance, it could be extended.
