A Mechanical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhauling of mechanical systems and equipment in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry. The role involves working on pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment, ensuring their optimal performance and safety compliance. The position also includes active participation in shutdowns, turnarounds, and preventive maintenance activities. Perform maintenance, repair, and overhauling of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment. Conduct alignment, lubrication, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems. Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and loop diagrams to carry out work accurately. Support plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and preventive maintenance programs as required. Identify mechanical faults and perform corrective actions to ensure continuous equipment reliability. Adhere to safety procedures and industry best practices during maintenance and repair activities. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve equipment performance and reliability. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry. Previous experience working with SABIC or Aramco projects is highly preferred. Proficiency in maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems. Strong knowledge of alignment, lubrication, and overhauling techniques for rotating equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and loop diagrams. Excellent understanding of safety practices and procedures in hazardous environments. Effective communication and collaboration skills for team-based work.
