Job Description

Our client is a fast growing regional digital learning company located in Dubai Media City. They are looking for a creative instructional designer who is ideas-driven, comes from a teaching or training background, and is passionate about designing and developing learning and practicing experiences. The instructional designer is expected to work with subject matter experts and a range of media formats and multimedia production platforms. Other responsibilities include developing objectives, rewriting and reshaping content, and implementing assessments.

Successful instructional designers should have a firm grasp of how people learn and excellent writing, communication, and collaboration skills. Ideally, the perfect candidate should also have experience managing projects and a working knowledge of graphic design.

Responsibilities:

Assess learning needs.
Creates learning experiences and environments.
Working with subject matter experts and identifying the target audience’s training needs.
Applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
Analyzes, updates, and refines existing materials.
Design, develop and edit online learning material and content (learning activities, assignments, and assessments).
Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer.
Writes scripts for video and audio content.
Keeps current on best practices in instructional design.
Trains instructors, students, and employees in how to use learning technologies.

Requirements

Qualification/Skills:

Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment.
Creative and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues and clients.
Understanding of website design best practices.
Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods.
Good project management and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines.

Education requirements:

BS, MS, or higher degree in instructional design, education, or related field.
Teaching or administrator’s license a plus.
Experience as a classroom instructor.
Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology.
Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
