Job Description

Our client is a well-established international architecture and interior design firm specializing in corporate workspace design and build projects.

We are hiring a UAE experienced senior level head of design with a strong career in corporate offices and workspace design and build.

The role will be primarily responsible for building and managing a design team who excel in conceptualizing and designing state of the art corporate offices and workspace areas.

Candidates must have strategic workplace consultancy, technical architecture design expertise together with P&L management, commercial acumen and leadership capabilities.

Role Summary

• Build the firm’s interior design and architecture practice in Dubai - develop superior quality workplace strategies aligned with client objectives, industry best practices, and emerging trends in workplace design.
  
• Strategic planning and design management of clients’ workplaces - oversee the design and coordination functions from initial design, award through to project planning, delivery and completion review.
  
• Project scope – conduct workplace and space analysis, assist with technical aspects of tenders and support business development initiatives and provide guidance on the design proposals.
  
• Client relationship management – primary contact for clients, understanding their business requirements and translating them into superior workplace design projects.
  

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• 10 – 15 years’ mid to senior level experience in sustainable and eco-friendly corporate offices and workspace interior design, design development and new build, project leadership and strategic workplace consultancy services.
  
• Strong track record of preparing and delivering strategic design briefs, high quality client presentations, conceptual and schematic designs excellence, space planning and construction documentation.
  
• A deep understanding of 360-degree design and build processes in the UAE – feasibility studies, procurement process, bid management through to project award, project design, construction and handover.
  
• Up to date knowledge of knowledge of UAE local and environmental and safety regulations related to workspace new build and refurbishments.
  
• Deep understanding of behaviourial aspects of workplace and organizational psychology, employee engagement surveys and workshops and employee experience change management.
  
• Experience of building, leading and coaching a design team.
  
• UAE driving license is mandatory.
  

Education & Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
  
• RIBA qualifications
  
• NCIDQ is an advantage
  

Candidate Profile

• Currently living in the United Arab Emirates – must be able to live and work in Dubai.
  
• Fluent in English.
  
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead presentations to C-suite decision makers with excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
