Job Description

The Head of Social and Community will be responsible for leading and executing the social media strategy via key platforms to drive audience growth and engagement across ITP’s Luxury Group. This role will focus on building and nurturing a vibrant and loyal digital community across multiple touchpoints, with a particular focus on WhatsApp and broadcast channels, while creating commercially successful content in collaboration with editorial and sales teams. The Head of Social will lead a team of Social Managers and Schedulers and act as an evangelist for all things social and community within the Luxury Group. Additionally, the Head of Social will collaborate with the paid specialists on media campaigns, advise on social strategies for subscriber conversion, and use data-driven insights to continually refine and improve performance across all channels. A deep understanding of social optimisation and performance is essential to this role’s success, alongside a willingness to work on day-to-day tasks as required (shooting, editing, copywriting) as well as overarching strategy.

Requirements

  • Social Media Strategy
    Develop and execute a growth strategy for key social platforms for each of our titles, with a focus on each brand’s specific audience behaviours and demographics, to expand our reach and drive engagement.
  • Community Growth
    Build and nurture a vibrant online community, creating personalised interactions and fostering loyalty through exclusive content, digital products and direct communication on key platforms.
  • Calendars and Output
    Own the planning and execution of all content across social channels, ensuring stakeholder engagement and sign-off are upheld and the output meets editorial and brand standards. 
  • Content Creation and Commercial Strategy
    Pitch and lead the creation of engaging commercial content tailored to our brand’s specific audiences, collaborating with editorial and creative teams to drive engagement and revenue.
  • Paid Media Strategy and Optimisation
    Work with paid media specialists to optimise our paid social campaigns, leveraging data-driven insights to improve performance, maximise ROI, and drive audience acquisition.
  • Paywall and Revenue Generation
    Lead the creation and distribution of paywall content on social, optimising subscriber conversion and retention while identifying opportunities for premium content to drive revenue.
  • Analytics and Reporting
    Track, analyse, and report on campaign performance, using insights to refine strategies and continuously enhance engagement and revenue growth.
  • Team Management
    Lead a team of social media managers and schedulers, working across a high volume of daily content to meet both editorial and commercial requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in social media strategy, community growth, and content marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership position within a premium publisher or creative agency.

  • Proven experience using WhatsApp groups and broadcast channels as key engagement tools.

  • Deep knowledge of social media analytics (native and third-party) and performance metrics, with the ability to pivot content strategies based on data and insights.

  • Proven strategy and execution experience with platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Whatsapp, Snap, Pinterest, YouTube and more. 

  • Proven contacts with influencers, social talent and platform connections with key players, preferably within the MENA region. 

Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong ability to create and lead dynamic social media and community growth strategies.

  • Expertise in creating commercially successful content, collaborating with paid media strategists, and driving audience acquisition.

  • Exceptional content creation and copywriting skills, including basic skills in video editing and photography).

  • Strong managerial experience with the ability to nurture and lead a team of social editors and creators.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.

  • Exceptional organisational skills, with ability to manage and delivery multiple projects simultaneously 

  • Experience working with paywalls and subscription models in digital media a plus.
