The Role:
ITP Media Group is currently looking for an ambitious, talented and experienced Group Editor to lead a team, group editorial strategy and audience growth across a group of titles.
Working with a talented, experienced team of journalists, this role will be responsible for defining, shaping and driving the high-quality content that will consolidate the brand’s existing market leading position and drive its growth forward with an ambitious and expansionist strategy.
With at least 10 years proven journalism experience, you will be the Group’s ambassador, advocate and spokesperson.
You will lead and direct the team on content and audience engagement and growth strategy across multiple platforms, in English and Arabic.
The right candidate will display an excellent understanding of new media and the evolving digital landscape, be platform agnostic, passionate, able to manage a team, commission articles, have an eye for detail, be numerate as well as literate, have a healthy respect for deadlines, commercial opportunities and an eye for a story. Above all, they will be able to build audiences through original and compelling content creation.
Requirements
• 5+ years’ experience working in a similar role, plus if you are fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.
• Solid understanding of the local and regional business landscape and a contacts book packed with C-suite executives, officials and investors from all verticals across the region.
• Understanding of how to build audiences across digital platforms, be able tell stories in a variety of formats, understand analytical tools and have the personality and drive to motivate a team to set the news agenda for the whole Middle East.
• The ideal candidate will possess at least five years’ experience in journalism, preferably in more than one sector and have outstanding writing and subbing skills. A minimum of five years’ experience working as an editor is also required.
• The right candidate will have degree-level education from a reputable university - appropriate journalism qualifications are also desirable.
• Experience on national and local titles, as well as an understanding of the Gulf markets, are essential.
