Reports directly to the Assistant Fire Chief of Operations. Directs and leads firefighters during firefighting operations, rescue operations, hazardous materials incidents and other related emergencies events.
Under the general direction of the Fire Chief, responsible for implementing LOGCAP V Fire Protection Plan and ensuring emergency response operations are conducted within the guidelines stipulated by this plan and the Emergency Management Plans.
Serves as the team leader for either a rescue unit, ladder truck, engine company, water tender or airport crash apparatus.
Enters burning or contaminated structures, vehicles, and other immediately dangerous to life and health areas to fight fires and/or perform rescues while wearing required personal protective equipment.
Directs Crew Chief/Company Officer level operations for structural fires, aircraft fires, rescue operations, medical emergencies, hazardous materials responses and other emergency events as directed. (45%)
Provides supervision to Fire-fighters. Required to maintain and clean personal protective equipment and supervise firefighters in cleaning equipment and facilities.
Performs duties in support of organizational metrics.
Trains and orients subordinate employees on performance,
documentation, and activities that effect the achievement of department metrics.
Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing, with their subordinates and others as needed to relay information necessary for job success.
This includes, but is not limited to, staff meetings, performance appraisals, job requirements, division metrics, projects, quality standard procedures, and safety practices.
Requirements
A valid driver’s license from QATAR.
High School diploma or equivalent (Associate Degree in Fire Science preferred)
DoD, Pro-board or International Fire Services Accreditation Congress Certification as:
Must meet training and certification requirements outlined in DOD 6055.06 –M. Fire Officer II, ◦ Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Hazmat Operations and Incident Commander, Airport
Firefighter. (HazMat Technician preferred), Emergency Medical Responder, (Emergency Medical ◦ Technician (EMT) or higher preferred)
Experience: ◦ Requires 5 years with an organized Fire or Emergency Service Department.
Program Specific Requirements: ◦ Extensive Fire Fighting and Emergency Service Experience. (5 Years) ◦ Must be able to supervise and manage the activities of multi-national and culturally diverse work force. ◦ Possess knowledge of safety and environmental issues. ◦ Be familiar with various Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
