Supervise and control all accounting activities concerned with the Company’s General Ledger, Invoice processing (including vendor management), Month-end close process, Financial Reporting (including timely preparation of quarterly and annual IFRS financial statements and Shareholder Reports), Coordination with Treasury and Payroll Section, Coordination with Budgeting and Production Accounting Section, and liaision with Auditors (external, internal, shareholder etc.) on matters arising from their audits
Responsible for managing the overall general ledger for the company and ensuring it reflects the true state of affairs of the Company
Carrying out activities in the integrated SAP system for month-end and year-end closing of financial books, including preparing / review and posting of monthly accounting adjusting entries, prepayments and accruals, review of refundable custom duty payments, and GR/IR account analysis and clearance
Management of processing and control of Accounts Payable process (including inter-company transactions), including timely invoice entry and payments of AP invoices, ensuring adequate approvals and budgetary controls in place, as well as supervise and control Accounts Receivable records and reports
Review of assets acquisition, retirements, and capitalization of assets under construction. Administration of the approved capital budget and AFEs
Verification of monthly bank and GL account reconciliations
Assist in developing, reviewing and updating accounting policy and procedures
Preparation of interim and annual financial statements as per IFRS and applicable standard and guidelines
Liaise with external auditors relating to audit and/or limited review of financial statements for client
Analysis and control of previous metals (Platinum and Palladium) inventory, Platinum purchase, Platinum lease, Platinum recovery from spent catalyst
Prepare as required, the financial review and analysis, and financial ratios relative to financial assumptions for management decision making
Recommend and maintain cost control, cost-saving and revenue enhancing opportunities in areas of Finance & Accounting General Manager’s responsibilities
Assist the General Manager F&A in the hiring and development of the new PDEs in Finance and Accounting Department, setting up KPIs and monitoring thereof, and provide leadership and coordination between departments and sections
Regular review and update of Finance P&Ps, Processes, and establish strategies to close gaps. Lead development and stewardship of F&A budgeting process
Support in all activities of SAP F&A related modules, including maintenance of required changes in SAP master data and records, as well as to maintain configuration changes etc. in SAP and general support
Requirements
BS / MS Accounting, or MBA (Finance)
7-9 years in finance and accounting including 3 years supervisory position in Finance, General Ledger and AP processing in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
Specialized Knowledge:
o IFRS as endorsed by SOCPA, Tax and Company laws, and SAP
