Copper and Gold project in Wilayat of Yanqul in Ad Dhahirah governorate with
an area of about 370 sq.km. It is 260 km far from Muscat and 140 km from Suhar. The project consists of five copper and gold mines, a processing plant, a camp, and all associated infrastructure.
We are looking for a motivated, highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of our engineering strategies and efficient processes, ensuring the timely completion of projects. You will also be responsible for the management and development of our engineering team.
Duties:
1. Lead the multidisciplined engineering team for a large sized EPCM project.
2. Develop the Engineering Execution Plan (EEP) and contribute to the Project Execution Plans (PEP).
3. Translate global strategic initiatives into procedures to be implemented on projects.
4. Develop and maintain Project Engineering Management framework to facilitate world-class delivery of capital projects.
5. Ensure that the engineering work on the project is completed on schedule, meet quality standards including review meetings and checking procedures, required deliverables are produced, and change management is executed in a timely manner.
6. Direct and manage the interface between Engineering and the other disciplines on the project including Process Engineering,Project Controls, Project Management, Procurement and Contracts, Construction and Commissioning.
7. Convene and chair engineering coordination and technical meetings and attend other project meetings as required.
8. Identify and/or develop options for value optimization through application of best practices, considering synergies across the full project scope and all project disciplines. Provide engineers with guidance on scope, design criteria, tenders, safety as well as environmental and legal documents, as required.
9. Arrange and facilitate design reviews, key engineering review milestones and participate as required in engineering, management and constructability reviews.
10. Coordinate with Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Operations and other functional groups early in the design effort to obtain their input and conduct any necessary reviews.
11. Review the engineering schedule and overall project schedule to ensure it meets project requirements and guides overall project scheduled development.
12. Ensure engineering risk assessments and HAZOPs are carried out and all identified issues are addressed.
13. Coordinate quality audit verifications to ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all design activities. Recommend and execute corrective actions as required.
14. Provide input into ensuring project requirements for permits, licenses and regulatory governmental agencies approvals are met and up to date.
15. Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and best practices.
16. Advise the Project Manager of difficulties and issues that arise on the project.
17. Oversee coordination of all project test and engineering fieldwork.
18. Assign responsibility for procurement packages to engineering staff and manage the process.
19. Oversee the technical review and approve vendor documentation, Purchase Requisitions, Price
Inquiries and Letter of Recommendations and coordinate cross-discipline input into procurement and contract technical packages.
20. Interface with construction as required to provide technical clarity and advise of any changes.
21. Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
Master’s degree.
PMP Certification is highly desired but not required.
Experience:
20+ years of related multi-discipline and management experience within an engineering consulting environment, and expertise on large scale projects in mining and minerals.
– Technical Skills:
An extensive technical knowledge of engineering systems, design, applications of engineering processes, and engineering applications of current engineering technologies.
Advanced knowledge of engineering through all stages of a project from conceptual phase to design development,construction, and commissioning.
Demonstrated experience in design and development of mineral processing facilities.
Experience of detailed design, feasibility studies and/or owners engineering work (technical specifications, tenders’ evaluations, design review, construction supervision).
A high degree of understanding of how engineering interacts with procurement and contracting, construction and commissioning disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
General knowledge of industry and regulatory standards in engineering disciplines.

Comprehensive knowledge of project planning, controls and understanding of multidiscipline interdependencies.
