Job Description

Our client is a well-established food distributor and we are hiring a UAE experienced credit controller / accounts receivable specialist to join their Dubai head office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that invoices due are collected on time and overdue payments and bad debts write-offs are minimized.

Candidates must have strong commercial and business acumen to maximize company profits by minimizing debts and risks through effective DSO and aged debt management.

Role Summary

Evaluate new credit requests and conduct client credit checks; obtain commercial credit reports for new customers and recommend credit limits based on their credit risk evaluation.
Manage the sales ledger, prepare month end reports on debtors ledger and be accountable for working capital.
Collaborate with sales team and customers for collections, aged debt and default payment escalations.
Prepare customer statements and accurate monthly credit control aging reports; respond to customer enquiries regarding their outstanding payments.
Minimize bad debt write-offs and ensure all are subject to correct authorization and sign off process.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

5 years’ experience in credit control and accounts receivable with strong expertise in analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and ledgers and investigating and resolving any anomalies.
Strong Excel and written English skills.

Education

Part-qualification in CIMA, ACCA or ACA is a strong advantage
B Com in Finance as a minimum

Candidate Profile

Currently living in the United Arab Emirates – must be able to live and work in the Dubai.
Customer and solution orientated.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Patient, persistent and resilient in following up overdue accounts.
