We are hiring for the role of an Associate Director of Marketing-Retail on behalf of our client in the UAE. A successful applicant will have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in commercially focused event retail promoting footfall, dwell time, and consumer spending.
Job Purpose:
Business partner to Retail management team for all Retail marketing, events and tenant relationship management
In Liaison with respective teams, develop an annual tactical tenant relationship, marketing & event strategy against set KPIs (in liaison with marketing and PR/Comms departments) to support the overall commercial objectives of each asset
Ensure timely and quality execution of all activities in line with retail strategy, brand positioning & target audience
Work closely with the marketing & PR/Comms departments to ensure alignment
Key Accountabilities:
Delivery of full retail marketing, events & tenant relationship strategy and plan that position retail assets as market leaders by liaising with all relevant departments and involving and getting buy-in from all stakeholders
Design & execute events to deliver KPIs, boost footfall targets and effectively deliver on performance goals outlined in the asset plan
Establish & strengthen relationships with retail tenants
Work closely with retail tenants to deliver promotions & events that aid in driving footfall and involving & converting sales for retailers
To work closely with all stakeholders to communicate and promote events in a timely manner
Deliver activities that improve overall mall visibility, create PR opportunities and drive business to the mall & tenants
Ensure compliance with QHSE mall policies and respond to event risk analysis
Conceptualize and implement CSR initiatives and ensure integration of key CSR activities and programs for each asset
Ensure delivery of mall décor for special occasions and events in line with the assets look and feel
Monitor and measure events success; Prepare pre/post analysis for each activation
Monitor and manage event & promotions budget spend
Ensure adherence to SOPs and assets P&P
Project manage all event activities including evaluation, planning and execution
Support the overall communications plans by providing timely and accurate event and promotional details for use in public relations, mall branding, owned channels (social media/website)
Provide ongoing communications with retail tenants and partners
Review, analyze and respond to tenant sales trends and footfall analysis
Nurture and engage 3rd party relationships to the benefit of all stakeholders
Build Strategic relations with asset retailers to ensure retailer engagement and participation in mall promotions and events
Keep retailers up to date with the mall’s calendar of events and offer participating opportunities
Maintain close contact with retailers to gain category-based customer behavior insights
Financial Accountability
Manage retail marketing and events budget in liaison with relevant departments
Key Result Areas:
• Delivering Events & Marketing KPIs for all activations, campaigns, initiatives
• Managing Tenant Relationships & Satisfaction
• KPIs & Footfall generation through events, marketing & promotions
Requirements
Education, Experience and Skills:
B.SC in Marketing or related field
Related years of experience:
Min of 7+ years of experience in commercially focused event retail promoting footfall, dwell time and consumer spend
Min 3+ years of managerial experience in related field
Experienced within the MICE sector, proven abilities in reinforcing marketing tactics with events; knowledge of techniques employed by large scale public attractions or entertainment sites
Experience with trend and sensitivity analysis; mall events, promotions within large, complex environments
Understanding of the GCC market supported by international experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining premier marketing & event strategies
Technical and Interpersonal Skills:
Proven ability as a business partner in delivering proven activities as well as creation of original concepts within the retail environment
Demonstrated technical event skills and tactical process knowledge of large-scale public attractions or entertainment sites
Design, planning, analytical, decision making, relationship management behaviors; positive attitude, works well under pressure, Radiates defensible ideas and solutions
Successful track record of achieving team synergies across crossfunctional units; demonstrated advanced communication, motivational and interpersonal skills; highly commercial, energetic, "deal-closer"
