Job Description

We are hiring on behalf of a Sovereign Wealth Fund Company based in Abu Dhabi for the role of Accountant - Accounts Payable & Fixed asset. 

Job Responsibilities :

  • Manage, monitor and maintain the newly implemented accounting software solution to track and report on the legal billings position of the Company
  • The incumbent will play a key role in the implementation of a new legal billing system. This will include working closely with third party vendors, internal stakeholders including other members of the AP team, Legal, General Services and the IT Project team. 
  • Manages the payment of all legal, tax invoices and procurement related payments, in accordance with our accounting procedures. Responsible for checking the invoice details for accuracy (incl. VAT payments) and correct allocation to the appropriate GL account and sub account.
  • Reviews all legal invoice payments and checks for errors, irregularities, coding problems or duplication of payment, 
  • Maintain legal fees tracker tracking all fee quotes, approvals and maintain folders on CAMS and SharePoint.
  • Maintain of control sheets on all contract payments, including such details as invoice number, total value of contract, etc.
  • Ensures that all payments are made on time within internally agreed service level agreements (SLA’s).
  • Reconciliation of accounts related to legal.
  • Assisting GS with Legal vendor setup and onboarding.
  • Analyses payments by currency, prepares payment instructions covering total payments for accounting purposes and obtains authorized signatures on payment instructions to the bank. Reviews payments and identifies areas where systems are not being properly followed. 
  • Prepares the annual schedule of accruals and liaises with the Legal department on the administration of accruals and assist in legal budgeting.
  • Checks and reviews for accuracy the Facilities Management and Operational expenses payments processed by the Company
  • Participates in the training of junior team members.
  • Carries out other similar or related duties as required


Requirements

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or equivalent coupled with an accounting qualification (CA, CPA, CMA etc.) 
  • Sound working knowledge of Oracle Finance Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years general accounting experience in a fast paced, high volume environment in the financial and Legal services industry in the UAE
  • UAE National Preferred
Technical Expertise / Skills / Knowledge:
  • Sound understanding of general principles of accounting and AP processing
  • Sound understanding of relevant UAE and VAT law
  • Sound analytical and intellectual capabilities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
